Membership eligibility

Find the civic honor the student may qualify for.

Answer a few questions about academic standing, civic learning, service, leadership, character, and advanced civic work. The checker will identify the highest CEHS membership level the student currently appears to meet and what remains for the next distinction.

Privacy: This eligibility check runs in your browser. Do not enter a student name, birth date, school record, or other personally identifiable information. Responses are not submitted or stored by this module.

Civic knowledge assessment

Demonstrate your civic knowledge.

Complete the CEHS Civic Knowledge Assessment before submitting the formal membership application. Your verified score will automatically be available to the application on this browser.

Current assessment standards: Member 70% • Distinguished Member 80% • National Civic Scholar 85%
Privacy: Enter the same student email address you will use on the membership application. CEHS stores a protected hash of the email with the assessment attempt; the correct answer key is never sent to the browser.

The assessment uses 30 questions per attempt. Results remain valid for 30 days. CEHS permits up to 1 attempts within that window, subject to the configured retake interval.
